About Our Owner

Paul Jarvis

Paul grew up in Boulder, Colorado. He graduated from Boulder High and received his Bachelor of Music with honors in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado (CU-Boulder). He then proceeded to earn his Master of Music degree in Piano from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also received training in piano technology.

He spent the next few years teaching piano and working for Schmitt Music, the Minnesota Steinway dealer, in their rebuilding department. The next 14 years were spent selling Kawai and Steinway pianos for Schmitt Music following his return to Colorado and 12 years at Wells Music selling Steinway and Yamaha pianos. For a time, he also taught a course in Piano Technology at Arapahoe Community College.

Paul managed Baker’s Piano Center for the next two years. When Baker’s decided to close the Boulder store in 2011, Paul decided to continue the business with his own store in the same location.

Now, with the help of his friends and family, he strives to make Boulder Piano Gallery a hub of musical activity in Boulder County, and the premier place to purchase a fine-quality piano, new or refurbished. Thrilled to be working in his hometown of Boulder, Paul says he considers making music to be at the core of our human experience. He enjoys nothing more than connecting people to the piano of their dreams.

Phil Reynolds

A long time Boulder piano technician, Phil has been instrumental in the building and success of Boulder Piano Gallery through the years. He is the one who does the majority of the prep, regulation and tuning of pianos prior to delivery and the in-home tunings for customers who buy pianos from us. He has also had special training at the Shigeru Kawai Technical Academy as well as years of continuing education through the PTG.

The Boulder Piano Gallery Experience

We don’t pressure anyone into buying our pianos. Our goal is to simply educate people about good-quality pianos and help guide them in their search for the best piano for their needs.
